Ghaziabad Sisters' Suicide: Online Gaming Suspected

Three sisters died by suicide in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, after jumping from the ninth floor of their apartment building. The incident occurred at approximately 2:00 AM on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in Bharat City Society. The sisters have been identified as Nishika (16), Prachi (14), and Pakhi (12).

Suicide Note and Possible Motives

Police recovered a suicide note suggesting the girls were addicted to online Korean games. The note reportedly stated they could not live without these games. According to their father, Chetan Kumar, the note contained a message: "Sorry, Papa, we cannot leave Korea. Korea is our life, and you can't make us leave it. That's why we are committing suicide". Another note stated, "Mummy, Papa sorry". A pocket diary containing an eight-page note was also discovered. The sisters also requested their parents to read their diary in the suicide note.

Initial reports suggest the sisters developed this gaming habit during the COVID-19 pandemic. Police are investigating a possible link between the suicides and a task-based interactive game.

Additional Information

The sisters had reportedly not been attending school regularly since the COVID-19 pandemic.
