Air India Staffer Arrested for Groping South Korean Woman at Bengaluru Airport

A 32-year-old South Korean businesswoman reported being sexually harassed at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on January 19, 2026. The incident occurred in the international departure area of Terminal 2.

According to police, the accused, Mohammed Affann Ahmed, a 25-year-old ground staff member of Air India SATS, was arrested.

Details of the Alleged Incident

The woman, who had been visiting India on a tourist visa since November, was returning to South Korea when the incident occurred. After completing CISF security checks and immigration, the accused approached her around 10:45 AM, claiming there was an issue with her checked-in baggage.

Ahmed allegedly told the woman that a beeping sound was coming from her bag and offered a private check to avoid delays at the regular checkpoint. He then took her near the men's restroom and, under the pretense of a manual frisking, allegedly touched her private parts and hugged her. The victim stated that she was subjected to an intrusive physical search without her consent.

Police have confirmed that Ahmed was not authorized to conduct frisking. He has been arrested and sent to Central Jail in Parappana Agrahara on Tuesday. CCTV footage supports the allegation.

Conclusion

A South Korean businesswoman reported sexual harassment by an Air India ground staff member at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport. The staff member, who was not authorized to conduct frisking, has been arrested.
