Gurgaon's 32nd Avenue Faces FIRs Amid Investor Protests Over Payment Defaults
Gurgaon Police have filed FIRs against the owner and officials of 32nd Avenue, a popular retail and dining hub, following protests by investors alleging default in promised payments. The investors claim they have not received payments since September of last year.
Groups of investors have been gathering at the complex in Gurgaon's Sector 15 for months to protest the alleged delays in promised rental payments. An employee at 32nd Avenue also claimed that workers have not been paid for months.
The protests have reportedly intensified recently, leading to increased police presence around the complex, especially in the evenings.
Details of the FIRs
Inspector Virender Kumar, SHO of Civil Lines, stated that an FIR has been registered against 32nd Avenue owner and CEO Dhruv Sharma and other officials for alleged forgery and cheating related to dishonestly inducing delivery of property. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Gurgaon Police is currently handling the investigation. ACP (EOW) Vishal Kumar confirmed that four FIRs have been registered based on complaints of forgery, and a preliminary investigation is underway.
Investor Grievances
Protesters allege that the management of 32nd Avenue makes promises to clear pending rentals whenever a protest occurs, but no action is taken. One protester stated that there has been no positive result from protesting and that they are still left in the lurch.
Other Issues at 32nd Avenue
32nd Avenue is facing scrutiny from local authorities. The District Town Planner (Enforcement) issued a show-cause notice on December 17, 2025, calling for the correction of major building and safety violations, including blocked fire exits and unauthorized construction modifications.
Conclusion
FIRs have been filed against the owner and officials of Gurgaon's 32nd Avenue following investor protests over alleged payment defaults. The protests, centered around unpaid rentals, have led to increased police presence. The site is also under scrutiny for building and safety violations.
